Import your records
Choose a CSV or JSON file, preview the records, and correct validation issues before importing. Your institution supplies and checks the records.
Review the questions
Use preliminary inventory reviews to identify questions and decide what needs follow-up. Responsible staff review the findings.
Document findings and conditions
Keep review actions, supporting information, and unresolved questions with the work. Nations set their own conditions; institutions remain responsible for acting on them.
Prepare review materials
Prepare supported notice drafts, internal summaries, or grant materials for the appropriate reviewers. Staff, counsel, and other responsible reviewers decide what is ready.
Retain the record
Revisit saved work, project revisions, and supporting evidence as the work continues. Filing, transmission, and repatriation decisions remain with the responsible parties.

PAVA supports records and review. It does not determine cultural affiliation, provide legal advice, replace consultation, or authorize filing or repatriation. PAVA does not submit or send filings.
